Leeds United transfer news: Tyler Adams move to Chelsea not complete, he could sign for Brighton
Tyler Adams could yet see his move to Chelsea collapse and instead sign for Brighton from Leeds United, according to The Secret Scout.
Writing on their official Twitter account (11 August), the news outlet, which has been verified by Fabrizio Romano in the past, report that the Seagulls could yet sign the USMNT skipper amid Moises Caicedo’s exit.
Brighton agreed a £110m fee with Liverpool for Caicedo, but Chelsea are trying to hijack the deal and could allow Adams to go to Brighton instead to get a deal over the line.
“Understand Tyler Adams move to Chelsea isn’t complete YET,” they wrote.
“There could be a possibility he may end up at Brighton.
“IF Chelsea manage to sign Caicedo. Lots going on! Never known anything like this.”
Wow
Well this is crazy and this transfer window just keeps throwing up surprises.
Leeds have very little control over what happens with Adams right now, because the £20m release clause has been triggered and therefore he’s free to talk to Chelsea.

But if Brighton come in with an identical deal they will also be free to speak to him, and it will be down to the player and what he wants to do.
As long as we’re getting the best deal we can for Adams then it doesn’t really matter where he ends up to be honest, but it’s quite interesting to see how Chelsea’s scattergun approach is going for them.
The longer it drags on, the longer we have to wait for the money to replace Adams which has to be one of the priorities for the final two weeks of the window. Just get it done quickly whatever happens, but Leeds will be watching attentively.
In other Leeds news, another first-team ace could leave before the window slams shut according to a journalist.
