Leeds United transfer news: More outgoings expected as 49ers set to back Daniel Farke

Leeds are expecting more loan outgoings and some permanent sales this summer as the 49ers look to back Daniel Farke, according to Graham Smyth.

Writing on the official Yorkshire Evening Post website (21 July), the journalist claims that the new ownership have set a budget for the manager to spend as they look to get back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

However to create the headroom needed in the squad, more loan deals are believed to be possible while some players will also be sold on permanent deals.

“Further out-going loans are thought to be possible and it is likely that a small number of players will be sold in the window to create the headroom needed to spend some of the budget made available by the new owners,” they wrote.

Sensible

There is no point keeping a whole host of players at the club this season that don’t want to be here, but there will also be players that Farke doesn’t want in his squad either.

It’s important to strike a strong balance between the two to give the squad and the manager the best chance of success and promotion, and the 49ers seem to be doing just that.

Which players are going to be sold remains to be seen, with plenty of interest in several first-team players including the likes of Illan Meslier, Crysencio Summerville and Tyler Adams, while players like Junior Firpo are also on the chopping block.

The new season begins in just a couple of weeks and the club will want to have a clearer idea of the squad they will have for the season by the time the first game rolls around.

But strengthening the squad is also a priority ahead of that game, so decisions need to be made quickly so we can begin to move forward.

In other Leeds news, Graham Smyth has shared if one Leeds star has a “burning desire” to leave Elland Road.
