Ben Jacobs shares ‘concrete’ Leeds United transfer update in pursuit of Burnley ace Manuel Benson
Leeds United are showing a “concrete interest” in Burnley attacker Manuel Benson, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Belgian winger, hailed as “electric” by pundit Sam Parkin last season, has started just one Premier League match this season.
Benson lit up the Championship with Burnley last time out and a return to the second tier has not yet been ruled out.
Sharing an update for GiveMeSport [28 January], journalist Jacobs said that Leeds still have a “concrete interest in Benson”.
Proven pedigree
Benson scored 11 goals and assisted three more for Burnley in the Championship last season.
That made him the Clarets’ top scorer en route to a serene promotion to the Premier League, yet he has not had a look-in this season.
A move away from Turf Moor before the January transfer window closes therefore makes sense, and where better place to go than Leeds?
United have been quiet so far in terms of transfer activity this month, but that could all change over the next few days.
Some players have been linked with the Elland Road exit, potentially making room for others to come in.

Leeds are not exactly lacking in terms of options in the final third, but they cannot say no to Benson if a player of his quality becomes available.
The 26-year-old falls into the classic category of potentially too good for this division but not good enough to take the next step.
If Leeds can land themselves another player capable of chipping in with goals, though, then their automatic promotion hopes will only be boosted.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites could be without one of their key men against Bristol City.
