Leeds United transfer news: Jonathan Rowe move ready in £12.5m development

Leeds United have set their sights on a new forward, with Olympique Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe on their transfer radar.

The England Under-21 international is familiar with the Championship, having spent several years at Norwich City before moving to the French outfit last summer.

Daniel Farke hopes to get into the Premier League for next season, with the Whites at the top of the league table, level on points with Sheffield United.

San Francisco 49ers will need to invest at Elland Road next summer if they manage to get into the English top flight.

It has been claimed that the Ligue 1 outfit could sell the English forward in the coming months after falling down the pecking order in Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.

Marseille signed Rowe on loan with an obligation to buy for around £12.5m and will look to recoup at least the money they have to spend on him.

Farke will want someone like Rowe at Elland Road next summer

Manor Solomon’s future at Elland Road is uncertain, with the forward’s loan from Tottenham expiring at the end of the season.

While the West Yorkshire outfit would arguably like to keep the 25-year-old Spurs loanee, it remains to be seen whether a deal can be agreed.

Joel Piroe has been Farke’s main goalscoring outlet at the Whites this season, and they evidently need to bolster their attacking ranks in the coming months.

Leeds have also relied on Dan James to provide creativity from the wings, but the Wales international’s fitness issues are concerning.

In recent matches, Willy Gnonto has lost his place at the West Yorkshire outfit, leading to questions around his future at Elland Raod.

The 49ers have massive decisions to make with some of their attacking talent next summer, making reinforcements necessary.

Rowe might be struggling at Marseille this season, but the youngster has shown glimpses of his talent in English football.

The 21-year-old’s transfer is a gamble worth taking at Elland Road.
