Graham Smyth shares ‘awkward’ Joe Rodon moment as Leeds United loanee probed on Tottenham future
Graham Smyth has shared an “awkward” moment involving Leeds United loanee Joe Rodon as he was probed about his future by schoolkids.
Rodon and Leeds team-mate Archie Gray took questions from children at an event at Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary in Leeds this week.
As reported by Smyth for the Yorkshire Evening Post [8 November], the children were “brutally honest” with their questions, including the one aimed at Rodon.

The Wales international was asked to state whether he would prefer to play for Leeds or Tottenham, though Smyth did not reveal his answer.
Easy choice
Rodon would no doubt like to be playing Premier League football at Tottenham, but he was clearly not fancied by Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham’s loss is Leeds’ gain – or at least it is for this season, as the centre-back is due to return back to his parent club next summer.
The only chance United have of signing Rodon permanently, realistically speaking, is by earning promotion back to the top flight.

Of more immediate concern is whether Spurs will recall the Welshman in January, with that reported to be an option [Phil Hay, 6 November].
Rodon has played in 12 of Leeds’ 15 Championship games this term, starting 11 of those, and will continue to be a regular for Daniel Farke.
And as Smyth points out in his piece, the question posed to him by the youngsters proved tougher to navigate than some opposition forwards this season.
But if it is a choice between sitting on the bench all season or playing pretty much week in, week out, then there is only really one answer.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports presenter “does not agree” with something that has been said in relation to the Whites.
