Leeds United transfer news emerges on bid to sign Joseph Paintsil
Talks between Leeds United and Genk over a move for winger Joseph Paintsil are on hold currently, after an £8.5million package deal was turned down, according to hln.
The Dutch news outlet shared via their website on 28 August [8:16] that Anderlecht had made a counter-proposal after turning down Leeds’ offer, but are yet to hear back from the Yorkshire club over the weekend.
This news emerges following a report from Ben Jacobs of GIVEMESPORT [24 August], where the journalist claimed Leeds were close to a deal for three new transfers, of which Paintsil was among them.

An exciting target for Leeds
Leeds should go all out in their move for Paintsil, who would provide the club with an exciting burst of pace from the wing, as well as another source of goals and assists having recorded a stunning 28 combined goal contributions in the Belgian Pro League last season.
The exciting winger would provide Leeds with an abundance of attacking talent out wide, and display his ability in both finding the net and setting goals up for his teammates, in a move that could be a real coup for the Yorkshire side.
The return of Wilfried Gnonto to the first-team against Ipswich, where the Italian managed to score a goal in his bid for redemption after his own summer saga, may have made the move for Paintsil less pressing than it would have been should the star have left Elland Road.

As it stands, Leeds are well-stocked in the wide areas, with Gnonto joined by Luis Sinisterra, Daniel James and Crycensio Summerville, although the situation could still change with less than a week to go until the transfer window closes on 1 September.
In other Leeds United news, a possible move for a £12.5million player may now be off.
