Leeds United talks underway to sign Connor Roberts, eleventh-hour transfer decision made
Leeds United have now entered discussions with Burnley over a late January transfer deal for defender Connor Roberts, according to Simon Jones.
The journalist shared via the Daily Mail’s transfer blog [1 February, 08:21am] that Roberts is open to making the move to Elland Road before the 11pm deadline.
Leeds have been in the market for a new full-back and now look set to focus their attention on bringing in the Wales international, who is eager for playing time ahead of his country’s upcoming Euro 2024 play-off qualifiers.
Get it done
This is a position Leeds have been looking to strengthen this month and a deal for Roberts would be yet more unbelievable business.
The Whites have been quiet so far in the winter window, but this one signing could make a whole world of difference.
Roberts may not have played as much as he would have liked in the Premier League this season, but he is a brilliant performer at Championship level.
Just last season he was named in the Championship Team of the Year, in fact, after playing a starring role in the Clarets’ promotion back to the top flight.

Roberts understands that he may have to drop back down a level if he is to play regularly, and he will feel right at home at Elland Road thanks to the presence of Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James.
There is no reason why this transfer cannot be finalised now in a move Leeds fans should be very excited about.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have also been linked with another Premier League defender in recent days.
