Fabrizio Romano: Cody Drameh to leave Leeds United on loan-to-buy transfer, Tom Brady drives deal

Tom Brady played a driving force in ensuring Birmingham City completed the signing of Cody Drameh from Leeds United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert posted on his personal Twitter page on Friday [1 September] that Drameh has signed for Birmingham on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

American football great Brady and Birmingham’s other new owners are said to have played a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in the transfer.

Struggle

Drameh has not had the best time of things at Elland Road since returning from a loan spell with Luton Town, with his only Championship appearance this term – as a substitute against Ipswich Town – seeing him make a mistake.

The 21-year-old has showcased his talent elsewhere, having also caught the eye during a spell with Cardiff City, but he will now look to find regular football away from West Yorkshire.

The fact it has not worked out for Drameh at Leeds is unfortunate, and it may well be that this is a decision that comes back to haunt the Whites should he thrive at Birmingham.

Leeds United

The loan signing of Djed Spence has further limited Drameh’s chances of regular minutes at Elland Road, however, and manager Daniel Farke will not lose too much sleep.

Having been given the approval of Tom Brady, the 21-year-old will now be eager to show Leeds what they have missed out on at one of their Championship rivals.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites may reportedly make an improved offer for one of their long-term targets.
