Charlie Crew opens up on ‘very hard’ Leeds United transfer decision
Charlie Crew has opened up on the “very hard” decision he made to swap Cardiff City for Leeds United.
The Wales Under-21s international left Cardiff in August 2022 and signed a two-year scholarship deal at Elland Road.
Crew is considered a highly rated midfielder and could soon be challenging for a place in Daniel Farke’s senior squad.

Speaking to reporters while away on international duty, as per Y Clwb Pel-Droed [14 November], Crew said: “It was a very hard decision to make.
“But it was one myself and my family felt was right, and it really was a family decision.
“We did go back and forth on whether we should go or stay. In the end, we decided to jump into it, take the risk, and in my opinion it’s paying off.
“I’m really comfortable at Leeds and I’m loving my time up there.”
Promising future
Leeds have a number of very talented youngsters in their ranks, none more so than up-and-coming Crew.
The 17-year-old made headlines earlier this season as he was involved in a tug-of-war between England and Wales.
Crew was content with his choice to continue representing Wales, and he is clearly pleased with his decision to join Leeds from his boyhood side.
The teenager was invited to train with Wales’ senior side in Cardiff in September in another show of just how highly he is regarded.

It is now just a case of Crew continuing what he is doing with both Wales and Leeds in the hope of getting first-team recognition for both.
Still seven months off his 18th birthday, the youngster certainly has time on his side in that regard.
As Archie Gray has showed this season, however, age is just a number if you can prove you are good enough.
In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has made a new prediction on where the Whites will finish this season.
