Leeds United transfer news: BBC pundit issues new Jamie Vardy claim

Leeds United will be looking for transfer reinforcements this summer as they will want to avoid relegation next season.

Despite having Joel Piroe, the Championship Golden Boot winner, among their ranks, they are understood to be looking to add to the quality in the final third.

With Manor Solomon unlikely to join, it has become imperative for the Whites to make attacking transfers.

Don Hutchison believes Jamie Vardy may fancy Leeds United transfer

Don Hutchison was discussing Jamie Vardy’s decision to leave Leicester City with Tim Sherwood – who cannot understand why the English striker wants to leave the Foxes.

The 38-year-old has been at the King Power Stadium since the 2012/13 campaign and has won the Premier League and FA Cup with them.

However, he scored his last-ever home goal there on Sunday and was given a great send-off by Leicester.

As his contract is expiring in June, the Whites will not have to pay a transfer fee if they decide to sign the striker who’s bagged 145 Premier League goals.

Hutchison, a BBC pundit, believes that one of the reasons for his leaving could be that he backs himself to join Leeds on a free transfer.

He told Premier League Productions on 18 May at 9:48pm: “Does he think he can do something at a Leeds? You never know. Maybe he thinks that’s possible.”

Daniel Farke could look to hone Vardy’s talents and make him fit into his side

Daniel Farke, known for his high-pressing, attacking philosophy, would aim to maximise Vardy’s lethal instincts at Leeds by tailoring the system to the 38-year-old striker’s strengths.

The German would deploy him as a central forward in a 4-2-3-1, leveraging his pace and predatory finishing by instructing wingers to deliver early, low crosses into dangerous areas.

Emphasising quick transitions, Farke would ensure midfielders such as Ethan Ampadu provide rapid, incisive passes to exploit Vardy’s knack for finding space behind defences.

To preserve Vardy’s energy, Farke would manage his minutes, using him as a starter in key matches and a super-sub against tired defences, while eyeing a striker in his prime to be the first choice.

Piroe has proven that he can be a capable number 10 and that position is what would suit him in the Premier League.
