Leeds United transfer news: Bayer Leverkusen want to sign Crysencio Summerville
Bayer Leverkusen want to sign Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville this summer as Xabi Alonso looks to bolster his attack, according to SportBILD.
Writing in their printed magazine (10 April, page 22), the German news outlet reports that the current Bundesliga leaders want to sign players with technical and tactical intelligence and the Dutch winger has emerged as a candidate for the attack.
Summerville has also been linked with a move to clubs like Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, with Leeds expected to demand around £45m to let him leave although they are planning to offer him a new long-term contract to keep him at Elland Road.
“From England, Crysencio Summerville (22) from Leeds United is currently a candidate for the attack, from France talent Tidiam Gomis (17) from Caen,” they wrote.
Will Crysencio Summerville leave Leeds United this summer?
Leeds will be hopeful of keeping their best players this summer, and Summerville is without a doubt one of those right at the top of that list.
But what comes with that is a host of interest from clubs that are in a better position than Leeds right now, and Leverkusen are arguably the team who are one of the most attractive currently.
Alonso has put the team on the brink of winning the Bundesliga title to end the dominance of Bayern Munich domestically, while they are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and are undefeated in all competitions this season.

Players will be excited to work alongside Alonso such is his reputation currently as a coach, and Summerville would surely excel if he played regularly in a top team too.
An exit this summer if the Whites don’t secure promotion seems inevitable, so Daniel Farke and the players must give everything to get to the top flight to given themselves a chance of keeping the squad together.
