Leeds United transfer news as Willy Gnonto agent spotted at Inter Milan
The agent of Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto was spotted at Inter Milan’s headquarters yesterday as he potentially discussed a deal for his client, according to Spazio Inter.
The report states that Leeds would be open to letting their star man leave on a loan-to-buy deal this summer amid interest from Inter as well as a host of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace and Everton. It is suggested however that the Italian side would need to sell Joaquin Correa before a deal can be done.
The Italian attacker made the decision to leave Inter’s academy set up in pursuit of first-team football when he joined Zurich in Switzerland before ultimately impressing Leeds United, who signed him for £3.8million in 2022.

Gnonto made 28 appearances in all competitions for Leeds United last season, scoring four goals and bagging four assists, gaining plenty of suitors despite his club’s ultimate relegation.
A loan-to-buy seems strange
If Leeds truly are willing to let Gnonto leave on a loan-to-buy deal it seems a strange decision, given reports of sides who would be more inclined to pay a fee up-front if a loan wasn’t on the table.
Leeds United don’t need to sell players this summer, although they won’t want to keep players who don’t want to be at the club, so shouldn’t be talked into making a deal at a cut price – any deal should suit them first and foremost.

Premier League sides Everton and Crystal Palace have been reported with interest for the Italian as both clubs look to bring in a winger in this transfer window, and are more likely to have immediate funds due to their Premier League status.
The transfer supposedly hinges on whether Joachin Correa leaves Milan, but it is suggested that he would prefer to stay, so Gnonto’s spell at Leeds may drag on a little longer yet.
In other Leeds United news, a couple have players have picked up injuries in pre-season.
