Leeds United transfer news as Wilfried Gnonto offered to Lazio as he wants to quit

Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto has been offered to Serie A club Lazio and is available in January, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian publication reported in its print version on Monday (20 November, page 20) that the Whites winger wants to leave Elland Road.

Gnonto, who joined the Elland Road club from Zurich last summer, has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season.

Time to go?

Gnonto has had a very mixed time at Elland Road since his switch from Switzerland, having initially set the Premier League alight with his displays.

The youngster gave some of the most experienced defenders a torrid time with his pace and trickery, earning plenty of plaudits in his debut campaign.

But those displays seemingly dried up, with the young winger then finding it hard to even get minutes on the pitch under the likes of Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce.

And there has been a similar story developing under Daniel Farke this season, although the player’s chances on the pitch have been disrupted by injury.

But given the presence and indeed top performances of the likes of fellow forwards Crysencio Summerville, Jaidon Anthony, Daniel James, Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter, Farke may not need Gnonto for much longer.

The manager could realise just how much of a profit the club could make if they sold the young Italian in January, meaning his days at Elland Road could be numbered.
