Leeds United transfer news as new loan release clause update emerges at Elland Road
As few as two Leeds United players still have relegation clauses within their contracts at Elland Road, according to Leeds Live.
The outlet reported on Monday (3 June) that Daniel Farke, Paraag Marathe and Angus Kinnear will have greater control over outgoings this summer, having been forced to allow players to leave on loan last year.
Several players departed Yorkshire on temporary deals following relegation from the Premier League, including Jack Harrison, and the Whites were unable to stand in their way because of agreements in their contracts.
However, that is unlikely to be the case again during this transfer window as only two players still appear to have such a factor in their deals.
Will Leeds United sell players this summer after missing out on promotion to the Premier League?
While Leeds United are not understood to be in the best position financially having missed out on promotion, the Whites seem to be in a good place when it comes to trying to keep a number of players this summer.
There is still an expectation that the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray could well be the subject of interest, but it doesn’t seem likely that there will be the mass exodus of players on loan that was seen following relegation.
That huge turnover of players during the offseason put Farke on the backfoot early on in his maiden campaign at Elland Road. The German started work with almost a completely new squad while a number of players point-blank refused to play.

Hopefully, the recruitment team and Farke will take advantage of their greater control this summer and do all they can to keep the majority of the squad in place this summer. It would be an immense shame if several players force their way out once again.
This could be a very interesting summer at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, a stumbling block may have emerged in the Whites’ push for West Ham defender Ben Johnson
