Leeds United transfer news as new Bayern Munich update emerges in Archie Gray race
Bayern Munich are ready to test the resolve of Leeds United over a potential move for Archie Gray, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported via HITC (28 May) that the German giants under Vincent Kompany are ready to try their luck to attempt to secure the teenager following the Whites’ disappointing playoff final defeat to Southampton.
Gray had signed a new deal at Elland Road last summer, but he has still caught the eye of several teams with Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal all joining Bayern in holding an interest.
While no decision has yet been made over the 18-year-old’s future, a move away from Elland Road seems to be on the cards after Leeds missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Will Leeds United sell Archie Gray during the summer transfer window?
Few players have been as exciting in a Leeds United shirt this season as Gray. The teenager has impressed in a number of different positions under Daniel Farke as the Whites just missed out on promotion.
While it is great to see an academy product play week in and week out at Elland Road, there has almost been an inevitability throughout the campaign around the fact that he would be the subject of interest when the window opened.
His ability has perhaps become the worst-kept secret in the EFL and teams will be queuing up to drag him away from Elland Road and it remains to be seen if the Whites are in a position to snub interest from the Munich.

As they look to balance the books, a big money offer could well be impossible to turn down. It would be a massive shame if Gray’s time at Leeds only lasted for a year, but it would be very hard to turn down a move to Munich.
Hopefully, the Whites will brush off any approaches that arrive come the summer but it could be a busy period of change under Farke.
