Leeds United transfer news as Max Wober wanted as replacement now
Leeds United defender Max Wober is in talks to leave the club as Borussia Monchengladbach eye him as a potential replacement for Nico Elvedi, according to Sky Sports Germany.
The news outlet reported on 23 July that negotiations are “on the way” between the Whites and Gladbach, with the Austrian centre-back having a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave Elland Road on loan following the relegation to the Championship.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke confirmed on 22 July that the 25-year-old missed the club’s friendly against Monaco due to the ongoing speculation around his future.

Matter of time
It’s starting to look like it’s only going to be a matter of time before Wober makes his inevitable departure from Elland Road, with the reports now suggesting that talks are underway between Leeds and Gladbach.
The Bundesliga outfit are seemingly keen on taking advantage of the clause in his contract and that will be a blow to the Whites as it’s likely they would prefer to recoup some of the £10million they paid to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg in January.
The fact he missed the friendly against Monaco shows he has no intention of playing for the Whites again, so it’s best to move him on now to get him off the wage bill.

Farke will probably be hoping for a swift resolution to the situation to avoid the speculation dragging on any longer and so he can use the extra wages to get someone else in.
It will be frustrating to see yet another player heading out on loan, but at least the deal now appears to moving forwards quickly.
