Leeds United have made it clear to Joe Rodon that they still want to sign him permanently this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (30 May) that Daniel Farke's side are still hopeful of securing the Welsh international's signature ahead of next season, despite missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Spurs are expected to ask for between £12million and £15million for his signature and the Whites remain eager to find the funds to secure a deal despite likely needing to sell players before adding to their squad this summer.

Rodon, like the rest of the Leeds squad, is currently on his summer holiday and he is expected to take the time to decide on the next step in his career.

Will Leeds United sign Joe Rodon permanently in the summer transfer window?

The season may not have ended quite as Leeds United supporters would have hoped, but throughout the entirety of the campaign, Rodon was one of Farke's most consistent and reliable players at the heart of defence.

His and Ethan Amapdu's partnership in the second half of the season was excellent and between the pair of them, they managed to stifle almost every attack they faced in the league to blow pundits and fans away.

Had the Whites bounced straight back into the Premier League, they would have undoubtedly paid the money required to bring the Tottenham loanee back to Elland Road. However, a £15million fee is a lot for a Championship side to pay.

Leeds have made it quite clear to Rodon that they would like him to make his stay in Yorkshire permanent and that means the decision is well and truly with the Welshman, as long as the Whites raise the funds to match Spurs' valuation.

Hopefully, they can find a way to get this deal over the line.
