Leeds United transfer news as Championship race on for Sory Kaba
Leeds United are now well in the race to sign Midtjylland striker Sory Kaba this summer, according to the Mirror [page 39].
The newspaper reported in its print edition on 1 August that the Whites are competing with West Brom, Cardiff and Watford to sign the Guinea talisman.
Kaba spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City, perhaps giving them an edge over their competitors, where he impressed plenty of suitors, having scored eight goals from his 17 games in South Wales.

An interesting option
Kaba would be an interesting option for Leeds, as he poses a different style to a number of other strikers the club have been linked with. He provides a direct threat, with his finishing and aerial ability, which could present Leeds with a change of style, perhaps later in games.
This is a different style to the forward options Leeds already possess in Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter, and also from Swansea’s Joel Piroe who Leeds had been heavily linked with in this transfer window.
The striker’s proven record at Championship level will be appealing to Leeds, as they look to bounce back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.

New Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe has previously stated [Leeds Live, 18 July] that he will do his best to give Daniel Farke as competitive a squad on the pitch as he can, hoping to be as strong as possible.
This suggests that Leeds will be forming a squad with plenty of proven talent, which Kaba definitely has. The striker also possesses plenty of experience at 28 years old, having played in five different countries in his career.
It is one to watch as the season nears.
In other Leeds United news, a £15million move for Manchester City defender makes too much sense to ignore.
