Leeds United transfer news as Archie Gray bids expected at Elland Road
Leeds United are expected to receive formal bids for Archie Gray this summer, regardless of whether they get promoted, according to Leeds Live.
The news website reported on 21 February that interested clubs have been impressed by the adaptability of the 17-year-old since breaking into the first team at Elland Road this season.
Gray has been previously linked with the likes of Liverpool and Crystal Palace but signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal with Leeds in January.
Archie Gray to leave Leeds United?
At just 17 years old, Gray has been almost ever-present in Daniel Farke’s side, appearing in 31 of Leeds’ 33 Championship games so far this season.
He has received high praise, not least from former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, but with that praise also comes speculation that his future may be at a higher level than Elland Road.
Signing the new long-term contract in December was a display of his loyalty to the club for which both his dad and grandad also played – something that will, of course, be a factor in his decision-making.

However, especially if the club don’t manage to get promoted amid the tight battle for the automatic promotion places this season, interest from the likes of Liverpool is difficult to ignore.
With bids expected to come regardless of their place in the league pyramid, it is likely to be left to the 17-year-old to decide where his future lies.
In other Leeds United news, the club could be set for a share of a £925million windfall.
