Leeds United ‘to seal Gustavo Hamer transfer’ after Premier League return

Leeds United could sign Gustavo Hamer from Sheffield United after winning promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites sealed a return to the top flight this season and went on to win the Championship title on goal difference against Burnley.

Hamer was a key player for Chris Wilder’s team as they lost the play-offs final to Sunderland at Wembley on 24 May, and it isn’t surprising to see the West Yorkshire outfit wanting one of their rivals’ best players.

With the Blades missing out on a return to the Premier League, the Peacocks have been presented with an opportunity to seal a deal for the Dutch midfielder.

Hamer is expected to leave Sheffield United in the upcoming transfer window amid interest from the Whites after missing out on Premier League football, according to talkSPORT.

It’s been claimed that the Blades are resigned to losing the Dutch ace after Sunderland beat them in the play-offs final.

With the 49ers Enterprises undoubtedly needing to invest in the Peacocks’ squad, it’ll be interesting to see how much they’re willing to spend on the midfielder.

Paraag Marathe must bolster engine room at Elland Road

Joe Rothwell has returned to Bournemouth after an impressive loan spell at the Whites, leaving a massive void in their engine room.

Josuha Guilavogui’s exit has also been announced at Elland Road, and Paraag Marathe must now spend money to add more depth in the middle of the park.

The West Yorkshire outfit left themselves short on options this season after failing to adequately reinforce the squad.

Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev’s injuries forced Leeds to sign Guilavogui on a short-term deal, giving Farke more options.

Rothwell and Ao Tanaka’s flourishing partnership helped the German manager cope with the fitness issues at the Whites, but they arguably need to be more prepared for the rigours of the Premier League.

Hamer was undoubtedly one of the best players in the Championship this season, and the West Yorkshire outfit will be getting a quality midfielder if they sign him.

While the 27-year-old’s addition won’t be enough, it could be a starting point for the 49ers to build a squad capable of avoiding immediate relegation.
