Ben Jacobs has reported that Leed United want to "resolve" Patrick Bamford going out in January.

The 31-year-old has not scored this season and, as a result, could be on the chopping block during the winter window having fallen below Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph in the pecking order.

League One side Wrexham have been linked to the one-cap England international [Olly Dawes] and Jacobs has told talkSPORT (2 January) that the Whites want him out by the end of the month.

He said: "Patrick Bamford going out is one that they [Leeds United] want to resolve."

Daniel Farke's side will have promotion on the mind this season and with them sitting top of the Championship tree, it is a realistic expectation.

With that being said, the German can't afford to have passengers in his squad in Yorkshire which Bamford is right now.

Given that the striker hasn't netted since April, his contribution hasn't been enough which has often seen Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph preferred ahead of him this campaign.

This could bring to an end to a memorable spell at Elland Road which saw him earn an England call-up after netting 17 Premier League goals in the 2020/21 season.

This is a fond memory but with promotion now on the line, there is no time for sentiment and decisions have to be made for the benefit of the LS11 club.

If a deal can be made to move the striker and his wages on, it could kick-start the Whites' window with positivity.
