Leeds United to pay extra £4.3m in bonuses to sign Bayern Munich ace Marc Roca - Sky Sports journalist

Leeds United have agreed to pay £4.3million in bonuses to Bayern Munich with an initial £10.3million fee agreed for midfielder Marc Roca, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon (14 June), Plettenberg claimed that the total cost of Roca’s imminent move to Elland Road could cost the Whites £14.7million.

Plettenberg says it’s a “good deal for all parties” and says that despite his limited game-time at Bayern, the 25-year-old Spanish midfielder has “never complained” and is a “very popular” player in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.

All but done

It seems that Leeds just need to get Roca to fly into the UK to undergo a medical before this deal is signed, sealed and delivered.

Leeds have done well since the season ended.

Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Roca all fill areas that needed to be bolstered before the 2022/23 season came close to starting.

And while there are still areas of the squad that need adding it before the next campaign does kick off, this is a very promising start.

Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha could yet leave Leeds, which will give Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch a lot of work to do in finding replacements.

However, in Aaronson, Kristensen and Roca, their midfield and right-back areas are looking very good indeed.

Roca hasn’t played much for Bayern Munich after he joined the German giants two years ago from Espanyol.

However, he’s had to compete with some of the best players in the world for game-time.

We’ve seen some Leeds fans point to Roca’s lack of minutes at the Allianz Arena to suggest he won’t be a good signing for Marsch. But, to put it bluntly, that’s a load of rubbish.

If you’d take players who are on the fringes of Manchester City’s first-team then you’d take players who are on the fringes at Bayern Munich.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are said to be in hot pursuit of this English midfielder for £10million.
