Leeds United to make a lot of money with Crysencio Summerville transfer
Leeds United have been tipped to “make a lot of money” if they opt to sell Crysencio Summerville this summer by Josh Warrington.
Speaking to Leeds United News (15 July), the former boxing world champion was asked for his thoughts on the future of the star winger with several clubs mooted to have an interest [Fabrizio Romano, 13 July].
Warrington admitted the club could make a boatload of cash by letting him leave Elland Road, however, he hopes the 22-year-old will stay to help the club get promoted back to the Premier League.
“You look at the money you could bring in, with the rules and regulations, we could make a lot of money,” he said.
“When he puts the shirt on, he scores goals. He had a lot of good games last season. So I’d be disappointed to see him go.
“We know what we’ve got with him, Farke knows how he works. At Elland Road, there’s a lot of pressure. He’s learned that, he knows what it’s about. I’d like to see him stay.”
Leeds United must do what is best for them, not Crysencio Summerville
As much as the club want to keep Summerville, there has been a lot of talk of them not standing in the 22-year-old’s way [Ben Jacobs, 24 June] should they receive an acceptable offer for him to move on.
However, the reality of the situation now is that the club don’t need to sell anymore this summer and unless a deal works on their terms then there is no reason to accept any offers.
Summerville may want to test himself in the Premier League again after showing he’s a class above the Championship, but he is still contracted at Elland Road until 2026.

Usually, that would mean that it’s the prime time to cash in on an asset, especially if he is keen on moving on, but that isn’t the case right now as things stand.
A boatload of cash would certainly help the team to be able to rebuild the squad for another charge towards promotion, but there is no guarantee it would be the best thing for the team.
