‘Leeds United to finally sign striker’ after £17m+ offer for Kilicsoy transfer

Besiktas striker Semih Kilicsoy could potentially sign for Leeds United soon this transfer window after an offer from Elland Road.

The Whites have strengthened their defence admirably recently by signing the likes of former Udinese defender Jaka Bijol and ex-LOSC Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson.

With the West Yorkshire outfit’s attack evidently needing more options, Kilicsoy has emerged as a target at Elland Road.

The Peacocks may reach an agreement for the 19-year-old centre-forward in the coming weeks as they look to build a competitive squad for the Premier League.

Besiktas open to £17m+ Leeds United transfer offer as Kilicsoy to make decision soon

Besiktas are open to Leeds’ offer of over £17million for Kilicsoy, according to Aksam.

The news outlet reports (14 July) that the Whites have shown the most serious intention to sign the Turkish striker in the ongoing transfer window.

It’s been claimed that the Super Lig outfit and the 19-year-old striker prefer a move to Elland Road this summer, with FC Utrecht also in the race.

With the Istanbul club open to the youngster forward’s departure, he’s now expected to make a decision soon.

Farke must push for more striker transfers at Leeds

Leeds made Lukas Nmecha their first signing of the ongoing transfer window, but it remains to be seen how he fares in the Premier League.

The former VfL Wolfsburg forward’s record in the Bundesliga isn’t the most encouraging, and it wouldn’t make sense for the Whites to rely on him to be their backup goalscorer.

Joel Piroe won the Championship Golden Boot last season, and Farke will certainly rely on the Dutchman to be his talisman in the English top flight.

Leeds will certainly be putting too much pressure on the former Swansea centre-forward if they expect him to shoulder the burden of goals in the upcoming campaign.

Farke should push the Whites to sign a quality number nine this summer and play Piroe as an attacking midfielder instead in the Premier League.

While the West Yorkshire outfit have solidified their defence, that won’t matter much if they can’t find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Kilicsoy has shown a lot of potential at Besiktas, but the German manager will undoubtedly need more than the 19-year-old as the Peacocks hope to survive immediate relegation.
