Leeds United to finally get Gabriel Sara deal over the line after £17.6m development
Leeds United are set to make contact with Glatasaray for midfielder Gabriel Sara in the winter transfer window.
The Whites are expected to knock on the Super Lig outfit’s door to sign the former Norwich City star in January.
Sara was strongly linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer, but a deal didn’t materialise.
Since then, Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff have thrived under Daniel Farke, but it looks like the West Yorkshire outfit are intent on strengthening their engine room further.

Gabriel Sara wants to leave Galatasaray amid Leeds United interest
Galatasaray are willing to consider offers worth around £17.6m for Sara in the coming weeks, according to Takvim.
The news outlet reports on 21 November that the Brazilian midfielder is open to leaving the Turkish outfit soon after Ilkay Gundogan’s arrival from Manchester City in the summer.
It’s been claimed that the Whites are making a move to sign the 26-year-old, who had an impressive spell in England with Norwich.
While Leeds and Galatasaray fans don’t have the best of relationships, it looks like the West Yorkshire outfit aren’t bothered about the optics of a potential deal.
Sara spent two years at Carrow Road, and in the 2023-24 season, the midfielder scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in 46 Championship appearances.
The Brazilian star has continued to play a key role for Galatasaray in recent campaigns, but his situation will be one to watch.
Daniel Farke has got priorities all wrong at Elland Road
Farke has been let down by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has established himself as the first-choice number nine at the Whites this season.
Joel Piroe has dropped down the pecking order at Leeds, and even Lukas Nmecha seems to be ahead in the German manager’s plans at Elland Road.
The Dutchman was the West Yorkshire outfit’s leading goalscorer in the previous campaign but has hardly been afforded opportunities since Premier League promotion.
With the Peacocks one of the lowest scorers in the English top flight this season, a reliable goalscorer should be their priority in January instead of signing another midfielder in Sara.
