Leeds United to complete signing of Ilias Akhomach in ‘next few hours’
Leeds United have won the race to sign Barcelona winger Ilias Akhomach and a deal will be completed in the “next few hours” according to Sport.
The Whites have been in contact with the young Moroccan winger for several months, and had always remained confident of sealing a deal for his signature.
And with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Sport report that Leeds have beaten Arsenal, Sevilla and Milan in the race for his signature with a deal expected to be done very soon.

“If there are no unforeseen changes, Ilias Akhomach will play for Leeds in the coming seasons,” they wrote (18 April).
“The striker’s contract expires on June 30 and after failing to reach a renewal agreement with Barca, although it would have been his wish, he will close his future with the English club in the next few hours.”
Big
Ilias is a very highly-rated young winger at Barcelona, as proven by the fact he actually started their opening La Liga game of the season under Xavi.
But with so much competition for places at the Camp Nou, regular game time is incredibly difficult to come by and he has now opted to go elsewhere to play more.

Elland Road has got a great reputation for bringing young players through with the likes of Illan Meslier, Wilfried Gnonto, Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Crysencio Summerville shining in recent years.
That type of project is clearly enough to excite Akhomach to join, and with the deal set to be done very soon it seems as though the prospect of playing in the Championship hasn’t put him off a move either.
Akhomach will have been given assurances of game time for next season, and Leeds have got a very talented youngster on board at the club. It’s a great deal for all.
In other Leeds news, the club have sent scouts to watch this “explosive” 15-goal striker ahead of a potential summer move.
