Leeds United tipped to push through Wilson deal as wage claim made
Leeds United may make an unorthodox offer to sign Callum Wilson after his contract expired at Newcastle United.
The Whites must arguably bolster their attack this summer after winning Premier League promotion, with Joel Piroe the only reliable goalscorer in the team.
Daniel Farke will have Lukas Nmecha at his disposal after he left VfL Wolfsburg as a free agent, but he scored just three times in the Bundesliga last season.
Wilson has been linked with a move to Elland Road recently, and with his contract at St James’ Park expiring, the West Yorkshire outfit have the opportunity to seal a bargain deal.

Wilson may be offered small wage and big appearance fee as Leeds United should push for transfer
Leeds may offer Wilson small wages with big appearance fees due to his injuries, Gabby Agbonlahor says.
The former Aston Villa star believes the Whites could potentially follow the trend of presenting the 33-year-old forward with a flexible contract at Elland Road, as he has struggled with fitness issues over the years.
Despite the ex-Newcastle striker spending a lot of time in the treatment room, Agbonlahor likes the sound of him moving to the West Yorkshire outfit as the Englishman guarantees goals.

Speaking on talkSPORT (3 July, 7:59), the former Villa star said: “[Wilson] had so many injury problems last season, missed so much football. Leeds might look at something, but whatever package he gets at a Premier League club, it’s going to be like small wages and big appearance fees. They do that a lot for players who struggle with injuries.
“I’ll swipe right because Leeds need experience, and even if he gets 15 to 20 games next season, he will score goals.”
Wilson transfer can give Farke much-needed option up front
Wilson’s record at Newcastle in recent seasons hasn’t been great due to fitness issues and Alexander Isak’s emergence, but the 33-year-old has proven his qualities in the Premier League.
The England international can provide much-needed depth in the Whites’ attack as they look to reinforce multiple areas of their squad.
While the 33-year-old can’t be the only addition to the West Yorkshire outfit’s attack, the lack of a transfer fee does give 49ers Enterprises a reason to get him.
Leeds have made a couple of defensive signings in Sebastiaan Bornauw and former Udinese centre-back Jaka Bijol.
The Whites arguably need a few more players in the backline after Junior Firpo’s exit, but they should also shift focus to bolstering the front line.
While Piroe was the leading goalscorer in the Championship last season, it remains to be seen how he performs in the Premier League.
The Dutch forward will undoubtedly need more support from other players to score goals, and Wilson could be a decent short-term option for the West Yorkshire outfit to survive relegation.
