Leeds United target Lewis Pirie follows potential new teammates on Instagram ahead of anticipated move

Leeds United transfer target Lewis Pirie has followed a number of his potential new teammates on Instagram as a move for the Aberdeen forward looks to be edging closer.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Twitter on 11 July that the 16-year-old is set to have his medical at Elland Road on Wednesday (12 July) ahead of signing a three-year deal, with the Whites set to pay up to £200,000 in compensation.

The teenager, who scored 51 goals for his club and country at youth level last season, has not waited around to connect with the Leeds players, having followed some of them on Instagram already.

Deal close

The fact that Pirie has already taken to Instagram to follow some of Leeds’ other youngsters shows that he is very set on joining the club and that the deal should be completed before too long.

He is clearly excited about making the move to Elland Road and it’s a positive sign to see that he is already making efforts to get to know his potential new teammates.

The teenager arrives with a big reputation in Scotland, having scored so many goals for Aberdeen and the national team’s youth sides last season.

That led to a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest in him and the Dons offering him professional terms to try and keep him at Pittodrie.

But it appears as though the Whites have won the race for his signature and there’s no doubt Daniel Farke and the fans will be looking forward to getting the deal over the line to see what all the hype has been about.

In other Leeds United news, one of the Whites’ most-prized assets looks like he could be on the move to Qatar.
