Bournemouth's talks with Leeds United over the signing of Luis Sinisterra have "hit issues", according to Graeme Bailey.

The 90min journalist reported via Twitter late on deadline day (1 September) that the winger's exit now "looks a tough one to get over the line", while their move for Patson Daka from Leicester City has also "stalled".

The Cherries had come in on deadline day with a late push to sign the Colombian from Elland Road, with Fabrizio Romano going early to report a "here we go" on the agreement, but Phil Hay of The Athletic was among the Whites journalists who disputed it.

The former Feyenoord man had come back into the side to face Ipswich last weekend after missing two games, as he and Willy Gnonto looked to leave, but has emerged as the primary late candidate to leave Elland Road.

Collapse?

The very end of the transfer window is now shaping up to be as dramatic as most of the summer has been around Leeds United.

If Sinisterra stays it would be a major boost to Daniel Farke's squad, as shown by his goalscoring return to the line up at Portman Road.

And after a window that has seen one man after another depart following relegation it would have to go down as a success to keep both the wantaway wide men, having apparently seeing off another late push from Everton for Gnonto.

Leeds United

With the potential for a legal debate over whether Sinisterra's release clause is still valid or not this always looked like it was going to be complicated one to finish in time for the deadline.

But with the two clubs in talks for most of the day there was clearly the potential for him to follow Tyler Adams back to the Premier League at the south coast side.

The contract wrangling potentially keeps this one live past 11pm if offer sheets and when paperwork is submitted become the key points.

But the latest update is a positive one for Whites fans, and a concerning one for Cherries supporters if it means their proposed double-deal is set to fall through on both counts.
