Leeds United table new Gabriel Sara bid, Norwich make demands clear
Leeds United have tabled a £5million bid for Norwich City star Gabriel Sara in the last few days, according to Özgür Sancar.
The Turkish journalist reported via his YouTube channel, quoted by Haber Sari Kirmizi [31 July], that the Canaries are possibly holding out for £13.9million, with the player notching 20 goals and 16 assists in England.
It is understood that Turkish club Galatasaray are also interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder, who the journalist has urged to make a much bigger offer than Leeds this summer.
Leeds United to splash the cash on Norwich City star Gabriel Sara?
Sara was one of the Championship’s players of the season, racking up 13 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances, leading the Canaries to the play-off spots before losing out to the Whites.
It is no surprise to see the transfer interest emerging for the 25-year-old Brazilian after just two seasons in England, though Leeds will need to pull together more funds if they are to sign him.
After missing out on promotion to the Premier League, many of the Whites’ biggest assets were always going to be linked with Elland Road exits, with Archie Gray and Glen Kamara already finding new exits.
However, the biggest concerns will be surrounding Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, and Wilfried Gnonto, who could all leave West Yorkshire this summer if the right bids come along.
It seems that only then could Leeds afford to purchase Sara, with little funds available for the club to splash out on the Norwich star.

The attacking-minded midfielder, who is also capable of deputising on the wing, was the Canaries’ biggest attacking outlet last season, with only Adam Armstrong, Sammie Szmodics, Summerville, Morgan Whittaker and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall recording more goal contributions.
He will definitely be a must-buy if Daniel Farke loses another talent this summer, but until that happens, Sara’s transfer fee may be out of Leeds’ reach.
