Leeds United have tabled a bid for an unnamed striker to bolster Daniel Farke's squad, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Writing on their official website (14 August), the news outlet report that the Whites have made their move for a new striker as the boss looks to find new options in attack.

Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph are both injured, while there are question marks over the future of Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra and Jack Harrison has left to join Everton on loan.

"As for other incoming business, Farke has made it clear he needs additions in all areas of the pitch and the YEP understands that Leeds have lodged a bid for an as yet unnamed striker," they wrote.

Finally

Obviously the club has had a lot of attacking options in the squad that are all of great quality, but there have always been question marks about who would actually be here once the window closes.

With a little over two weeks remaining of the window, it's now become clear that most probably won't be here and that means that Leeds need to start moving for replacements to ensure that we aren't left short.

The club have been linked with several striker targets although until now nothing concrete has been reported beyond interest.

Joel Piroe and Cameron Archer are seemingly the most likely arrivals in the position and both would provide fantastic goalscoring options for Farke to add to an already strong squad that has started badly.

We'll surely hear more in the coming days about who the bid was made for, how much it's for and what the selling club's answer is, but it's great to see the club are finally moving in the market.
