Leeds United swoop for Daniel James to go down to the wire - Phil Hay
There is a “strong chance” that Leeds United will see their swoop for Daniel James go down to the wire, according to Phil Hay.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday afternoon that Leeds are in “advanced talks” to sign the 23-year-old Wales international before the transfer deadline passes before 11pm on Tuesday.
Writing via his personal Twitter account, The Athletic’s Leeds reporter Hay said that he expects the deal for James to go down to the wire – and that he also expects it to happen.
Don’t go to bed early
Make sure you’re well rested for Tuesday because it looks as though it could be a late one for Leeds fans.
Hay’s expecting it and we should all too because we know what Leeds are like with deadline day and Wales international James.
No one needs to be reminded about the deadline day in February 2019 but one thing that still remains important is that Marcelo Bielsa likes the ex-Swansea ace.
James possesses great pace, he’s versatile and he’s now proven himself in the Premier League.
How many players signed by Bielsa have come with much Premier League experience?
James is also a fully-fledged international for Wales and has played in the Champions League for Manchester United.
He’ll be a great signing and a really good addition to the wide options that Bielsa has at his disposal.
Let’s just hope there are no hitches this time where we see the deal collapse.
But back than, James was a key player for Swansea and now, he’s probably nowhere near the immediate first-team plans for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
In other Leeds United news, Dharmesh Sheth has shared a major transfer update from Elland Road ahead of deadline day.
