Leeds United ‘surprised’ admission made after latest Jack Clarke news

Sam Parkin would be surprised if Leeds United don’t make more signings before deadline day after missing out on Jack Clarke.

The Whites had shown an interest in resigning the 23-year-old but now Ipswich Town appear to have won the race after submitting a £15million bid [The Times].

It is disappointing for Daniel Farke to miss out on the winger, but pundit Parkin told talkSPORT on 24 August (06:38am) that he expects Leeds to conduct more transfer business.

He said: “They’ll reinvest that money they’ve garnered over the past few weeks and already have a very strong side.

“They missed out on Jack Clarke and Jonathan Rowe, but I’d be very surprised if Leeds’ squad doesn’t look even better in a week’s time.”

Leeds United to miss out on Jack Clarke

Frustratingly for the Elland Road faithful, another transfer target has come and gone with Clarke now set to bypass a return to the club.

Fans can begrudge him securing a move to the Premier League with Ipswich but it is still disappointing to see.

The Englishman felt like the perfect signing for Farke to bring in after losing his main stars in attacking areas throughout the summer window.

With Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter both making moves to the top tier, the Whites’ forward line is lightweight compared to last campaign.

Some work has been done to rectify this with Largie Ramazani now coming in from Almeria in a deal which has fans excited.

It must be said that another option is probably going to be needed because if injuries happen then Farke’s side is going to be light.

Not bringing in Clarke or Rowe is frustrating but there are other options that the Whites can bring in before deadline day.
