Leeds United submit bid to hijack £20,000-a-week Sheffield United transfer
Leeds United are attempting to hijack a move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after Sheffield United offered a £20,000-a-week wage, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The newspaper reported on 11 August (page 57) that the Blades are hoping to hold off bids from Hull City and the Whites to sign the 21-year-old.
Daniel Farke’s side are “staying in the race” for the Crystal Palace starlet with United set to pay £20k-a-week in wages, three times his £6.6k weekly Palace salary.
Leeds United still want Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
Leeds are in real need of additions in attacking wide areas after the departure of Crysencio Summerville to West Ham United.
Farke began the campaign against Portsmouth with Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto out wide with the latter getting on the scoresheet.
The pair performed well on the day but the substitute bench had a lack of like-for-like replacement options to bring on.
Eventual goalscorer Brenden Aaronson came on with Joel Piroe as both wingers were taken off which made the Whites much narrower.
If Rak-Sakyi were to come in, there would be an instant improvement in the squad at Elland Road which would be hugely positive.

The Crystal Palace youngster is very direct and likes to get at his opposing defender, utilising his technical dribbling ability.
In his loan spell with Charlton Athletic, the attacker caught the eye and will be hopeful of a move to the Championship, potentially with Leeds.
In other Leeds United news, Sam Allardyce says he is “sad” for supporters after what San Francisco 49ers did.
