Leeds United strongly push to seal new Tottenham transfer agreement

Leeds United want to sign Ben Davies from Tottenham during the winter transfer window, according to TeamTalk.

The news outlet has reported (13 January) that Daniel Farke’s side are strongly pushing to secure the signing of the senior Spurs defender before 3 February.

A cut-price move could be on the cards for the 31-year-old who is out of contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

Leeds United to sign Ben Davies from Tottenham?

Although Farke has suggested that he sees his side doing little during the January transfer window, the Whites do need some reinforcements if they are going to maintain the momentum towards their promotion push.

This isn’t the first time the Championship club has been linked with the experienced defender, with a loan deal considered last January [Phil Hay, 17 January 2024] suggesting that the Leeds manager is an admirer.

There’s no doubt it’s a deal that’s an attractive prospect given his extensive experience.

Furthermore, with Max Wober’s injury issues and questions surrounding Junior Firpo’s contract, a cut-price deal for Davies could provide the West Yorkshire outfit with some breathing space.

However, the 31-year-old does not come without his injury issues and has been out since the start of December with a hamstring issue, suffering a setback in his recovery along the way.

If fit, this is a transfer that could certainly be a strong one for the Whites but Farke needs to be careful not to lumber his side with another sick note they don’t need.
