Leeds United still open to Willy Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville sales
Nancy Froston has claimed that Leeds United might still sell Willy Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville this summer if it suits their strategy and the fee is right.
Speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast [3 July], the journalist added that despite ongoing interest in these players from other clubs, the Whites remain in a strong position due to having multiple attractive assets.
Froston also stressed that any sales would be part of a measured approach, allowing Leeds to pursue other beneficial moves in the transfer window.
She said: “[Leeds] will still be getting requests and interest in Gnonto and Summerville and others.
“I can see a world where they sell another one of those players if it means they can do something else that suits them better in the window.
“But it’s all very measured at Leeds. I don’t think this is panic stations at any point.”
The update comes on the back of Archie Gray’s £40million move to Tottenham over the weekend.
Leeds must prepare for further departures amid interest in star names
Brighton & Hove Albion’s reported interest in Summerville, Gnonto and Glen Kamara suggests potential player exits from Elland Road this summer [TBR Football].
The Seagulls have already made a move for Georginio Rutter with a £30m bid, which has since been rejected, highlighting their intent to strengthen ahead of the new season.
Gnonto, who has previously sought a move back to Serie A, could also be on his way out as he eyes opportunities to enhance his national team prospects under Luciano Spalletti.

Meanwhile, Summerville’s impressive form makes him a valuable asset Leeds might prefer to retain.
Selling Gnonto, meanwhile, could provide the Whites with essential funds for squad reinvestment after falling short in the playoffs last season. Either way, it will be a massive call for the club to make.
