Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville transfer twist emerges amid West Ham links

West Ham have reached an agreement for the transfer of Leeds United attacker Crysenscio Summerville, according to David Ornstein.

The Athletic journalist took to X on 31 July to claim that personal terms have been agreed between the Hammers and the Dutch attacker over a five-year contract.

Now it’s on the two clubs to agree on a fee with negotiations ongoing since West Ham made a bid last week.

Via X, Ornstein wrote: “West Ham United reach total agreement with Leeds United to sign Crysencio Summerville. Personal terms in place for Dutchman on 5yr contract. Plan is 22yo #LUFC forward undergoes medical before flying to join #WHUFC on USA pre-season tour.”

Leeds United had very little chance to hold on to Crysencio Summerville

Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca and Charlie Cresswell all parted ways with Leeds this summer and now Summerville appears to be the next one out.

The allure of top-flight football, coupled with the potential for higher wages and greater exposure, often proves irresistible for ambitious players.

Summerville’s decision to agree personal terms with West Ham suggests he is keen on taking the next step in his career.

While Leeds fans may be disappointed to lose such a talented player, it’s a testament to their success that they’ve attracted such interest.

There was always a price that need to be paid had they avoided promotion and this is the price, unfortunately, for the Whites.

Hopefully, the money generated from the Dutchman’s sale can then be used to pursue talented attackers elsewhere.

In other Leeds United news, a bidding war update emerges as the Whites want to sign an £8.5m-rated attacker.
