Leeds United are not pursuing a deal for Hammerby forward Jusef Erabi ahead of the transfer deadline, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (19 August) that while Daniel Farke is eager to bolster his attacking options in the coming days, the Whites are not targeting the 21-year-old currently.

Reports had suggested that both Leeds and Championship rivals Norwich City were in talks over the Swedish youth international, who Hammerby value in the region of £8.52million [Marc Mechenoua, 16 August].

Will Jusef Erabi exit Hammerby amid Leeds United transfer interest?

It is clear that Leeds United need some attacking reinforcements following Crysencio Summerville's move to West Ham United and Georginio Rutter's impending transfer to Brighton and Hove Albion [Florain Plettenberg, 17 August].

But the Whites appear to be taking their time when it comes to finding replacements. Farke's side may have been linked with a whole host of players, but they only seem to be actively pushing for a couple of targets.

However, things can change incredibly quickly in the summer transfer window, particularly with the deadline now only days away, so the Whites could still step up their pursuit of Erabi if other targets fall by the wayside.

Daniel Farke is in his second season as Leeds United manager.

The 21-year-old's record with Hammerby has been impressive, scoring five goals in nine Allsvenskan starts this season. If he could replicate those numbers in the Championship, he would be an excellent replacement for Rutter.

For now, however, it seems as though supporters will have to make do with a combination of Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph at the top end of the pitch unless Leeds' transfer window finally sparks into life.

Regardless of whether it is Erabi or another striker, a new centre-forward is a must for the Whites before the transfer window slams shut on 30 August.
