Leeds United sources claim that the club are not owed money from Barcelona for the Raphinha transfer, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported on 9 October that it is possible the Catalan outfit owe money to a creditor but the Whites have been paid in full.

This comes after Sport reported (8 October) that a total of £35.6million was still owed by Barcelona.

Leeds United did not fall into the financial mess created by Barcelona

The situation with Barcelona's transfer payment for Raphinha exemplifies the ongoing financial challenges at the club, where delays or debts in transfer fees are not uncommon.

Leeds' dealing with the situation wherein they got paid in full shows they did the right thing otherwise things could have got messy.

Historically, Barcelona's financial issues have often led to delayed payments or structured deals over several years, which can impact a selling club's cash flow and planning.

For the Whites, securing full payment upfront or within a manageable timeframe not only avoids potential future legal or financial disputes but also provides immediate funds for reinvestment into the squad or infrastructure.

While Andrea Radrizzani has been known to make questionable decisions, this one actually benefited the club.

It's good to see Raphinha having a glorious season at Barcelona and while Leeds fans will be missing him, they will be rooting for him to succeed.
