Leeds United sources confirm to Graham Smyth update on Summerville move to West Ham
Leeds United sources have confirmed that West Ham United are in advanced talks to secure the signing of Crysencio Summerville, according to Graham Smyth.
As per the report (Yorkshire Evening Post, 31 July) there has been confirmation from sources within the club that there are advanced discussions regarding the transfer, and that his wages are not considered to be an issue.
It comes after a report from earlier today that this was the case (Dharmesh Sheth, 31 July).
Leeds United are ready to be stubborn
Leeds United aren’t afraid to sell, as was seen in their willingness to let Archie Gray depart the club. With that being said, they aren’t about to let star players go for pennies. This is a club that is more than ready to challenge for promotion to the Premier League and in order to have the squad necessary to accomplish that goal, they need financial aid.

There have been rumblings about Summerville all summer long (pun not intended) and rightly so. Across the last five games of the 2023/24 campaign, he averaged a rating of 7.79 (Sofascore) – during a time when his side needed him the most.
It’s all about handling the pressure at the elite level and he can do that, but Leeds United do not want to be taken for fools. West Ham have the facilities to fund a big time transfer and if he leaves Elland Road within the next few days, there’s still plenty of time left for Daniel Farke to bring in replacements.
In other Leeds news, Daniel Farke already wants two more arrivals after Jayden Bogle move.
