Leeds United share last-gasp transfer update after Isaac Schmidt announcement
Leeds United have confirmed that Isaac Schmidt will be the final piece of transfer business before the 11pm deadline on 30 August.
BBC journalist Adam Pope shared the confirmation on X with no outgoings expected as well as new signings in the final minutes before the deadline.
Ao Tanaka was also signed on deadline day from Fortuna Dusseldorf as Daniel Farke prepares for the rest of the season with this squad.
Leeds United transfer update before 11pm
It appears as though Leeds were just one signing away from this window going from decent to good.
Tanaka and Schmidt are great new arrivals for squad depth in critical areas, but a new statement number 10 would have been perfect after losing Georginio Rutter to Brighton.
Brenden Aaronson is starting to look like a solid option upon his return, but another signing would have eased any nerves surrounding that situation.
At least there will be no last-minute surprises going out of Elland Road this year, which is something that tends to regularly happen to fans waiting up until the last second.
Farke can now go into the Hull showdown on 31 August with a solid squad behind him, although Schmidt will have to watch from the stands.
Manor Solomon, Largie Ramazani and Tanaka, however, should be in the squad and ready for their debuts.
