Leeds United set to sign Jack Harrison from Manchester City permanently in July
Jack Harrison will finally join Leeds United permanently from Manchester City in July with talks underway between the two clubs, according to The Mirror.
The 24-year-old joined the Elland Road outfit on loan from Man City in the summer of 2018, impressing over the last three campaigns to earn a deserved move.
It is understood that Harrison will officially become a Leeds player on July 1, just over five weeks from now, when his new permanent deal begins. While the fee will be undisclosed, the Mirror claims it is between £10million and £15million.
The Whites did include an option-to-buy in his loan deal with the Premier League champions last summer.
However, Leeds had plans to complete a permanent move for Harrison prior to choosing a temporary deal, only opting for the latter so as to have enough funds to spend on other transfer targets.
Solid Player
The former New York City FC man proved his credentials as a Premier League player this term, scoring eight goals and making eight assists in 36 top-flight games.
He was only unavailable in both fixtures against his parent club and will be looking forward to proving himself against them next term and in subsequent campaigns.
Harrison scored 10 goals and assisted 11 others over the two seasons he spent in the Championship with Leeds, and it is safe to say that he is perfect for the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa will be aiming for a top-seven finish next term after guiding his side to a ninth-place finish in 2020-21, and he can always count on Harrison’s quality and talents in the pursuit of European football.
The Englishman definitely has his eyes on breaking into the England national team, and an outstanding campaign in front of goal next term could see him force his way into manager Gareth Southgate’s plans ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
