Leeds United set Max Wober demand already with transfer now on cards

Leeds United are set to demand a fee in the region of £12.6million to part ways with Maximilian Wober, according to Bild.

The German outlet has reported that Borussia Monchengladbach would love to see the Austria international return to their club next season.

However, the Whites are demanding at least £12.6m in order for him to depart the club as they are also in need of centre-backs.

Why Leeds United should not let Maximilian Wober depart the club in summer

Daniel Farke’s men narrowly missed out on promotion back to the Premier League following their 1-0 playoff final loss to fellow relegated side, Southampton.

Throughout the season, Leeds had been on top for large periods. However, as the end of the term edged closer, it felt like they had almost lost their fight.

One of their stand-out players was that of Joe Rodon, the Wales international formed an impeccable partnership with any teammate he was paired with and helped solidify Farke’s defensive line.

However, he was just on loan from Tottenham, and with the transfer window now open, the Whites are vying for his transfer, this time with a permanent deal in mind.

But, thanks to his performances, many other clubs also have the defender in their view and Leeds now only seem to have a “slim chance” [Football London, 16 June] of retaining the 26-year-old’s services.

Hence, why it makes sense for the West Yorkshire outfit to attempt to keep Wober within their ranks.

Although the club need to sell in order to not breach PSR, they have plenty of other players who they can choose to sell.

Wober would be an ideal replacement for Rodon and would certainly help their chances of gaining promotion once again.

In other Leeds news, the Whites could look at selling Illan Meslier this summer to help them stay within PSR.
