Leeds United ‘set for huge transfer’ as Anton Stach update emerges
Leeds United appear to be on the cusp of securing the services of Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach this summer.
The Whites have bolstered their defence this summer and also signed Lukas Nmecha in attack, but have now made a big move to strengthen their midfield.
Stach has been linked with Leeds for a few weeks now, but the deal is expected to go through.

Fabrizio Romano claims an agreement has been reached for Stach
According to Fabrizio Romano (19 July), the two sides have reached an agreement over the transfer of the Germany international.
The final fee is understood to be in excess of £17.3million with the 26-year-old moving permanently to Elland Road.
He will be signing a four-year contract at the Whites and will be a first-team regular under Daniel Farke.
The midfielder will be playing in the Premier League for the first time in his career and is excited by the prospect of it.
Leeds United appear to be moving well in the transfer window
Leeds United know how difficult it is for promoted teams to avoid relegation.
The last six sides that have secured promotion from the Championship have all gone back down the very next season.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
TSG Hoffenheim | 71 | 4 | 6 |
1.FSV Mainz 05 | 68 | 2 | 13 |
Greuther Fürth | 33 | 1 | 1 |
Thus, it was imperative for the 49ers to free up funds for a good transfer window to give the Whites the best chance of avoiding the drop.
Signing Stach is a signal of intent as he would strengthen a number of lower-half Premier League sides.
It’s good that Leeds moved quickly, as competition would increase for his services should they have taken longer.
He’s now expected to undergo his medical and the deal should be days away from being finalised if there are no last-minute snags in the coming days.
