Leeds United ‘set for another transfer’ after Lukas Nmecha twist
Leeds United are reportedly close to making their first signing of the summer transfer window, bringing former Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha to the club.
Despite Joel Piroe winning the Golden Boot for Leeds last season, Daniel Farke is keen on adding to his attacking ranks.
The Elland Road outfit know that they have to strengthen in multiple positions if they are to avoid relegation next season.

Nmecha unlikely to be only attacking target this summer
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post (15 June), the Whites are expected to finalise the signing of Nmecha on a free transfer.
He will become the first one through the door in the coming weeks as the club begin their summer onslaught.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
VfL Wolfsburg | 85 | 19 | 4 |
Preston | 44 | 3 | 5 |
RSC Anderlecht | 41 | 21 | 3 |
Middlesbrough | 13 | 0 | 0 |
Man City | 3 | 0 | 0 |
Nmecha’s contract at Wolfsburg runs out at the end of June, which means he will move to Leeds without a transfer fee.
However, that is not going to be the final piece of the jigsaw with regards to the Whites’ summer arrivals in the final third.
They are keen on signing another striker even after finalising the transfer of the 26-year-old.

Leeds United need a 10-15 goal striker for next season
While Nmecha will certainly strengthen the first team, the Whites need a proven forward to lead the line for them.
Leeds United must bring in someone who could get 10-15 goals in the league alone and give them the best chance at survival.
The first season is always the toughest and one of the main reasons that newly-promoted sides get relegated right away is because they struggle for goals.
Nmecha can provide an immediate impact, especially with Manor Solomon not expected to join from Tottenham.
It is still imperative for an out-and-out striker to join and he could share the goal-scoring load with the Germany international.
Hopefully, they close in on securing the services of a top-quality striker and Piroe can then play in behind him and also contribute to goals and assists.
