Leeds United ‘risk’ emerges after remarkable Beto transfer development
Leeds United have Everton striker Beto on their radar as they look to bolster their squad in the upcoming transfer window.
Daniel Farke’s team will play Premier League football next season, so it isn’t surprising that the Whites are looking to sign players with English top-flight experience.
Beto has emerged as a target at Elland Road, with the Guinea-Bissau centre-forward reviving his career at Goodison Park in recent weeks.
With regular first-team action not guaranteed at the Toffees, an update has emerged regarding the West Yorkshire outfit’s interest in the 27-year-old.

Beto risk will not be taken by Leeds United from Everton
Beto will undoubtedly be of interest to the Whites, but they may not be willing to take the risk of signing him from Everton, Graeme Bailey says.
The TBR Football journalist believes the 27-year-old’s representatives could be considering possible destinations where he can play regularly.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 27 | 7 | 0 |
Bailey expects the West Yorkshire outfit to be interested in the centre-forward, but it seems unlikely as the Toffees don’t want to sell the striker after a remarkable turnaround at Goodison Park.
The journalist said (9 May): “Beto has had a good season, remarkable considering from where he was. A lot of that is down to Moyes. I don’t believe Everton are that keen to move on from him. Everton paid a decent whack for him.
“Clearly, his people want him to play regularly. Would Leeds be interested? I don’t see why not. But I don’t see Leeds taking that risk.”

Farke will want support for Joel Piroe
Farke relied heavily on Joel Piroe to fire the Whites to the Championship title with his goals this season.
The Dutch striker won the Golden Boot after scoring 19 league goals, but it remains to be seen how he’ll fare in the top flight.
Mateo Joseph was handed regular minutes at Elland Road earlier in the campaign, but his underwhelming performances led the German manager to opt for other options up front.
Leeds also have Patrick Bamford at their disposal, but the Englishman is arguably in the final stages of his career, and it would seem best for him to leave soon.
Dan James has been an important creative outlet for the Whites, and fans will hope he can continue to perform at a similar level in the Premier League.
Piroe has shown great potential in the Championship, but the English top flight is a different kettle of fish, and he can’t be expected to shoulder the burden of scoring goals.
The West Yorkshire outfit arguably need to reinforce every area of their squad with quality players next summer, and signing players with Premier League experience should be a priority.
Whether the Peacocks will make a move for Beto in the coming weeks remains to be seen.
