Leeds United reject £25m bid for Georginio Rutter from Borussia Dortmund – Sky Sports
Leeds United have rejected a £25m bid from Borussia Dortmund for attacker Georginio Rutter, according to Sky Sports News.
Writing on their live transfer blog (29 August, 11:48), the news outlet report that the Bundesliga giants tabled an offer for the French youngster earlier this summer.
But Leeds rejected the offer as they want to recoup their club-record £35m to allow him to leave, which saw Dortmund walk away and Rutter remain at Elland Road for now.

“Sky Sports News understands Leeds rejected an approach from Borussia Dortmund for Rutter earlier in the summer. That proposal was in the region of £25m,” they wrote.
Wow
There’s been little chatter about the future of Rutter this summer which was interesting considering he barely played after his big move in January.
He was always going to be unhappy about his role and if a club came in it wouldn’t have been a surprise to see him push for a move in a way similar to how we’ve seen Wilfried Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra do.
But it seems there was no release clause or if there was it wasn’t made public, and the club held a firm stance on his future that they weren’t willing to make a loss just six months after signing him.
It’s admirable and has worked out, especially considering the fact he has started the season well and got his first goal for the club in the 4-3 win over Ipswich at the weekend.
It looks like he isn’t pushing for a move away and unless we get an offer that makes sense, he’ll be tasked with leading the line this season alongside Joel Piroe, Gnonto and Sinisterra.
