Leeds United have been keeping track of Hoffenheim striker Haris Tabakovic to bolster Daniel Farke's attack.

The 32-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions for Borussia Monchengladbach on loan during the 2025-26 campaign, leading to interest from the Whites.

With a year remaining on the Bosnia and Herzegovina international's contract at the SNP Arena, they look set to cash in on him.

While Tabakovic has been a target at Elland Road, Red Bull Salzburg seem to have taken the lead in the race to sign him.

With the energy drink giant holding a minority stake at the West Yorkshire outfit, they have clearly turned against Farke to snatch a transfer target.

Salzburg have agreed a £4.2million fee with Hoffenheim for the centre-forward as they push ahead with a deal.

How Leeds United can still hijack Haris Tabakovic transfer

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha were Farke's first and second-choice strikers, respectively, in the 2025-26 campaign, helping Leeds secure Premier League safety.

While the former Everton star has been pivotal to the Whites' plans, the German manager could certainly do with a new quality number nine ahead of next season.

According to Dennis Bayer of Sky Sports on 5 July, Salzburg are yet to reach an agreement with Tabakovic on personal terms.

There are other clubs who have the veteran number nine on their radar and the West Yorkshire outfit may still have a chance to hijack the move by matching the transfer fee.

One stat that would make Haris Tabaovic valuable for Daniel Farke

Leeds have been linked with Tabakovic in recent months and the striker's goalscoring ability is just one of the factors.

The Whites must be confident that the Bosnia and Herzegovina star will do well in the Premier League because of his physicality.

Of Tabakovic's 13 Bundesliga goals in the 2025-26 campaign, four were left-footed, four right-footed and five off the head.

The centre-forward won 3.3 aerial duels per game for Monchengladbach, demonstrating that he could be a decent option for the West Yorkshire outfit to have if they were to play long balls, especially in the dying minutes of games if a goal is required.
