Leeds United really like Spezia star Bartlomiej Dragowski as January transfer now expected

Leeds United are really interested in high-earning Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The publication reported on its website on Wednesday (10 January) that the player is expected to complete a January move.

The 26-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season for the Serie B outfit; 13 in the league and one in the Coppa Italia.

New goalkeeper incoming?

Dragowski, who has two Poland caps to his name, has spent the majority of his career in Italy after starting out in his homeland.

Having previously represented Fiorentina and Empoli, the shot-stopper is now approaching 50 appearances for Spezia.

But with interest from Leeds, he may not reach that milestone, although it remains to be seen how quickly any move from the Championship side will come.

Daniel Farke currently has Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow at his disposal as he looks to get the Whites back into the top flight of English football.

After many struggles last season, Meslier is undoubtedly the number one under Farke this time around, with Darlow playing a deputy role after moving to Elland Road in the summer.

But perhaps the man in the dugout is seeking a change in that area this month, with the experienced Dragowski seemingly an option.

His future at Spezia is uncertain, with the Pole certainly not his club’s number one in recent times, spending time on the bench last month.

In other Leeds United news, the 49ers have opened the door for a defender to return to Elland Road as a Whites development emerges.
