Leeds United ready to sign off on exit of player Daniel Farke is massively fond of
Leeds United have a strong history of player development and are always on the lookout for their next star.
From Gary Speed and David Seaman to Kalvin Phillips and Archie Gray, the Whites have always produced special talent.
Gray joined Tottenham from Leeds in the summer of 2024 for a reported fee of £40million, despite being just 18 years old at the time.
The Spurs midfielder’s younger brother, Harry, is the latest player making waves in West Yorkshire, but he could be set for a spell away from Elland Road.
Leeds United’s Harry Gray loan stance revealed
Gray has been excellent in the academy so far this season, scoring five goals and grabbing one assist in six Premier League 2 appearances.
The young centre-forward was even an unused substitute in the Premier League, as Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 back in September.
However, Gray hasn’t been included in a matchday squad since, and could now be heading elsewhere to gain some experience.
According to LeedsLive, Farke’s side are willing to consider a loan move for the 17-year-old, should he be convinced by any potential offers that come in.
Gray made one appearance for Leeds in the Championship last season, coming off the bench in a 6-0 win over Stoke City, so could look to make a return to the second tier.
The youngster will have the final say over his future, with Leeds awaiting any offers that are forthcoming.
Daniel Farke ‘delighted’ with Harry Gray progress
Gray signed his first professional contract with Leeds back in October, penning a three-year deal with the Whites.
Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the teenage star, but Farke will be eager to ensure that he stays at Elland Road for as long as possible.
Gray’s contract is currently limited to three years due to his age, but when he turns 18 in October 2026, Leeds will be able to give him a longer-term deal.
After the forward officially put pen to paper on terms, Farke gave his thoughts on the youngster, calling him a “quality player” and adding that he was “delighted” to get the deal over the line.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Farke said: “It’s a cornerstone for our future that we make sure that promising players like Harry sign new contracts, because we want to develop our own talents.
“If you have a quality young player, of course it lasts a bit longer until everything is negotiated, and I’m pretty delighted that it’s over the line.”
Gray may now get the chance to shine elsewhere, but he will no doubt have a big part to play at Elland Road for years to come.
